Enrique Torres (often credited as Enrich or Enric Torres-Prat) is a Spanish illustrator well-known for his iconic work on horror-fantasy magazine covers. Sr. Torres’s superhero work includes original cover art for early Vertice Editions of imported Marvel comics (images provided by Universo Marvel)... In many cases, Sr. Torres provided original cover art. However, there are a few examples of homages that can add great flair to an international cover set! Also, interesting to note how Daredevil maintained his brown-and-yellow costume for several years longer in Spain, and Spider-Man's colors were repeatedly reversed! Daredevil #7 (Marvel, April 1965) Wally Wood // Dan Defensor (Vol 1) #4 (Vertice, 1969) Enrich Daredevil #16 (Marvel, May 1966) John Romita // Dan Defensor (Vol 1) #7 (Vertice, 1970) Enrich Amazing Spider-Man #4 (Marvel, September 1963) Steve Ditko // Spiderman (Vol 1) #2 (Vertice, December 1969) Enrich Sr. Torres became known to American audiences in 1971 when he provided the cover art for Jack Williamson’s collection of science fiction stories People Machines (Ace Books, 1971). As a member of the Selecciones Ilustradas art agency, Sr. Torres came to provide artwork to Warren for their horror-fantasy line, including Vampirella (Warren, 1969 series), Eerie (Warren, 1966 series), and Creepy (Warren, 1964 series). A few of his paintings could also be found gracing the cover to Heavy Metal (Heavy Metal, 1977 series) and Psycho (Skywald, 1971 series). Thanks for doing this SGT Comics!!! I'm looking forward to seeing other artists and creators!!!
As for Enrich ... WOW!!! Great stuff!!! I'm sure I've seen his work, but I just wasn't paying attention to who did the piece!
