It's not every day you receive something you've waited for more than ten years, but recently it happened. When I started looking for foreign Spider-man comics in the early 2000's, I knew next to nothing about them. I assumed most developed countries in Europe had published some, and I had read in an old Marvel Age issue that issues had been published in Australia, but other than that, I didn't think there was much else. So when I began my research I quickly discovered the spanish issues from Vertice, which became a favourite with their unique, beautiful painted covers. I wanted to see more of the same and so a daily search for new "Spanish Spider-man" issues began.
Suddenly one day, out from nowhere, a comic catched my eye. FABULOSO Hombre Araña? No title from Spain or Mexico I had heard of before, could it be a previously unknown one? And then, somewhere in the description, I saw the magic word that opened my eyes - Argentina! Of course! Spidey was published in South America also, I hadn't even thought of looking for comics from there, but there it was! The cover looked amazing and I think I laid a bid but was overbid and lost the auction (this was 16 years ago so my memory is a bit fuzzy). This exact comic was what led me on to the path of researching Spider-man comics from all over the world. That, and the fact that these comics look, feel and smell amazing, makes the El Tony editions my favourites of all the foreigns.
