Having been in this wonderful niche of a hobby for a few years now, I'm finding that the thing that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up isn't so much getting the comics in the mail .. but getting a lead on a hitherto unknown book out in the wild .. in some territory where you'd never expect to find it .. that's .. the thrill of the hunt, for me. The best example of this is finding a lead on 2 x Captain America's from Thailand a few years back (never mind the Indonesian weirdness of books that occasionally come to light) .. the Thai books were totally unexpected and when they arrived, I could "smell" the country as I turned over the pages. In my minds eye, I could see the temples and smell the sweet smell of incense on the pages. Foreign books to me, bring a whole glut of things when I first open the package. The smell of some far-off, distant land is the trigger for those hairs standing up. I may have shown the Thai books elsewhere here in the forum, but for those who may have missed seeing them the first time 'round .. I'd love to hear your experiences of the thrill of the hunt ..
